If you're the parent of a horse lover little girl or boy, you'll probably be planning a horse themed birthday party at some point (probably several as they grow-up). The Painting Pony has designed some wonderful pony themed party invitation sets with matching paper plates, stickers, gift tags, thank you cards, and more to coordinate the equestrian's dream party. At a recent birthday party we threw for my own daughter, we had the opportunity to see some of our products put to use for her own pony themed party.
Our daughter had been wanting to have a birthday party themed around her white pony, named Ginni, all year long. Sadly, we had to put Ginni to sleep just a month before the party due to a tragic pasture accident. Although Ginni was no longer with us, our daughter chose to continue with her Ginni-themed party as a way to remember her best friend and celebrate the friendship they had shared. She had always proudly shown-off "HER" pony to everyone who visited our farm and this was her way of showing Ginni off one last time. The colors pink and white were used to symbolize Ginni (white) and my daughter (pink). We hope this blog post will inspire you for your next horsey party with the following photographs from our barn birthday party!
Pony Paper Party Plates, Pony Party Invites, Pink Plaid Pony Table Runner, Pony Stickers
The gorgeous pink pony birthday cake was lovingly made by my own mother who is a cake-baking genius! The topper is a white pony toy that held sentimental value to my daughter as it resembled her pony, Ginni. Framed photographs of her and her pony were set up decorating the cake table along with cupcakes with white pony ears and a pink plaid table runner which is also from The Painting Pony. Our matching white pony stickers were used to decorate the pink paper cups so they would match the pony plates that were also personalized with her name. These plates also matched the pony invites we sent out to invite our guests to the party.
The pink favor bags were purchased from Hobby Lobby and filled with various candies for kids to take home. These were a DIY project I did myself and used one of my daughter's jumping horse stamps from a Melissa & Doug stamp set she had. I used white paint to paint-in the horse and a red colored pencil to add some color to the jumps. If you try this yourself, you need to be careful to let the ink from the stamp dry, or it will smear when you try to paint it. I didn't on my first try and things got a bit messy! I punched holes on the top which I folded over and then tied ribbons and curled with scissors to finish things off. If you want an easier DIY favor bag without all the paint, try adding some of our matching Pony Stickers instead! Just peel and stick!
The party was held in our barn because what better place to have a pony-party than at the barn?! The barn aisle was decorated with white (for her pony) and pink streamers.
Pony rides were a big hit with all of the kids who came to the party - especially the ones who had never been on a horse before! It was fun to see all of their reactions when the horse started walking and a huge grin appeared on their faces.
Old white and pink horse show ribbons were used as accent decor around the cake table for an extra bit of fun.
The gift table was set up using some hay bales which were easy and fast to set up and also made for the perfect barn-themed table. Don't forget to add matching pony gift tag labels to those birthday gifts! There is also a great selection of equestrian themed horse wrapping paper to choose from for an extra-special touch to any horse lover's gift.
