Maternity Photography for a Horse

Our little corner of heaven that is our farm will be having our first equine new arrival this Spring. In May, our stallion's first baby will be born. The very FIRST foal to be born on our farm and probably the FIRST Akhal-teke part-bred to be born in the state of Tennessee also! It's a pretty big deal and we are all very excited. Jasper, the future mom-to-be, has been enjoying her pregnancy while spending time with her baby daddy, our stallion, in turn-out together every day.

While walking in one of the pastures inspecting fencing, I came across a bunch of dandelions growing. I gathered them up and made a garland with them which gave me the idea to use them with Jasper and capture her pregnancy in a maternity shoot of her very own, horsey-style!

I hope you enjoyed these pictures of my horse maternity shoot! Be sure to come for a visit again soon to see the baby's pictures when the foal is born. The little one is sure to be photogenic and a cutie!
